Myths and Truths

Myth:
Every woman's cycle is 28 days long with ovulation occuring on day 14.

Truth:
Most cycles range anywhere from 24 to 36 days...every woman is different.

There are 3 important fertility signals...
1. the waking temp
2. cervical fluid
3. cervical position

If you were to chart these three signals through your cycle, you would know when you ovulate and be able to predict your most fertile days. Charting is so important for women to uderstand because the benefits are astounding.

Benefits from charting include:
* Aid for becoming/not becoming pregnant
* record of anovulation( lack of ovulation)
* record of late ovulation
* record of short luteal phase(2nd phase in cycle)
* note infertile cervical fluid
* note hormonal imbalances
* note progesterone levels
* identifying miscarriage
* easily facilitates diagnosis of other gynecological issues
* physical awareness
* virtually cost free
* non-invasive
* accurate

Hormones to consider:
Follicle Stimulating Hormone
Estrogen
Luteninzing Hormone
Ovulation
Progesterone

Our body as a delicate balancing act...most birth control plays with this balance leaving us with lasting side effects. (More on this later)

A Good Quote...
"We want far better reasons for having children than not knowing how to prevent them."
